Is it possible for me to have my own production facility in China?

Foreign investor needs to present the requested documents to the authorities in order to have his own production line in China. You shall prepare a report which includes the aims of the facility, sector it’s involved in, venue details, technologic adequacy, etc… You also need to get your establishment applications ready, feasibility report and the other official documents that will be required by the municipalities.

Is Chinese cuisine a big challenge?

It might be a little bit tough for the first time. There are plenty of Turkish restaurants, Middle Eastern cuisines and other European restaurants here in China. But it would be a good idea for picky people to bring feta cheese, olives and canned and instant food products with them in their first visit to China.

Language will always be the biggest challenge for you to communicate with Chinese people during your social activities and business meetings. You will understand that most of the common words that can be understandable in other countries don’t exist here. There are not too many local English speaker in China in comparison to their large population.

How can I make sure that the manufacturer keeps the quality level same for my future orders?

If you want to have a long-cooperation period with the manufacturer, you need to sign a contract with them which is prepared according to Chinese laws and let your consulting company do the last inspections for you to make sure quality of the product matches with the previous ones.

8IMPORTING PROCEDURE

What is the procedure of importing products from China?

C:
You need to know the specifications of your product very well. Product can be very simple for you but Chinese manufacturers might ask a lot of detail in order to put a project together. If it’s your first business experience with China, you have to visit the factory by yourself or let your consultant do it for you, so you can choose the right manufacturer. The next step is the inspection of the goods during the producing process and make sure the quality is your standard, amount and packaging is right. Payment issue usually shapes itself according to your contract terms with the factory but most of them prefer 30% cash before the production starts and 70% before the shipment. When your shipment arrives to its destination you need to have all the documents ready so you can clear the customs by the help of a customs consultant.

China is one the biggest exhibition attractions in the world. There are different kinds of exhibitions welcoming visitors almost every month. The busiest season of exhibitions is Spring (for instance, Canton Fair in Guangzhou). But you should be aware of the holidays and celebrations in China during the winter time, such as Chinese New Year (Chunjie). That’s why, make sure you take a look at Chinese holiday calendar before you schedule your visit.
